Charles Swann Coal Merchants stock anthracite coal for sale at our depot in Wolverhampton. Anthracite’s name comes from the Greek for “coal-like”, but Anthracite is coal: a natural, compact coal variety with a high carbon content, very few impurities and the densest store of energy in all types of coal.

Because of this high quality, gradings give anthracite smokeless fuel status, because of the low particulate matter emissions. The applications for Anthracite include domestic fuel and as anthracite coke for blacksmithing and steelworks.
